Sustainability

A good life for all people in a healthy environment – with this vision the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda at its summit meeting in 2015. The global action plan comprises 17 goals, ranging from climate protection to the reduction of social inequalities.
We have currently selected the following elements as areas in which we are convinced we can make the greatest contribution:

The aim is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages by 2030.

The pharmaceutical industry is one of our most important customers. Excellent asset management and maintenance ensures product quality and contributes to cost-effective production.

The aim is therefore to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education by 2030 and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

We support education and training at many levels. We make our contribution to education at the Technikum Wien. We promote further education with specialist training for all age groups and provide targeted support for young talent, both at our customers’ premises and within our own ranks.

The goal is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030.

We work with the energy sector on innovative projects that are working hard to increase the share of renewable energy. Our senior management privately invests so much in the expansion of renewable energy that, through self-generation and participation in wind power companies, more renewable electricity is generated than all team members consume combined.

The aim is to promote sustainable economic growth in less developed countries, full employment and decent work for all by 2030.

As part of our Policy we offer workplaces where everyone in the team feels comfortable, gets development opportunities and fair pay.
We specifically look for projects where we can improve people’s working conditions and we continually learn from international projects beyond the local horizon.

Ziel ist es, bis 2030 eine widerstandsfähige Infrastruktur aufzubauen, eine inklusive, nachhaltige Industrialisierung zu fördern und Innovationen zu unterstützen.

We support industry in improving its structures and workflows through our projects. We introduce new technologies and help to gain valuable information from data. Maintenance makes a significant contribution to the efficient use of resources.

Our planet can only take so much pressure and we are consuming too many resources. The way people live today worldwide, we would need not just one Earth, but 1.75 Earths. Therefore, the goal is to switch to sustainable consumption and sustainable production by 2030.

We help our customers to improve the utilisation of resources by systematically improving their maintenance skills. Repairing instead of replacing reduces the use of raw materials and emissions caused by transport and production. Methods such as condition-based maintenance help to find the optimum balance between the utilisation of component lifespans and uninterrupted production.

Climate change is one of the greatest threats facing our planet. The international community therefore wants to take immediate action to combat climate change and its effects through this target.

Climate protection is closely linked to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. With Dween, we reduce the consumption of electrical energy of large-scale consumers, which ultimately always results in a reduction in the use of fossil fuels.
Despite all the possibilities offered by electronic communication, travelling is essential for maintaining contact with our customers. We choose our means of transport carefully, with a strong preference for public transport.

The aim is to achieve peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels by 2030.

Korb Consulting’s commitment to peace goes so far that we choose customers, who do not profit from armament or even war. The industry that profits from war is strongly interwoven with civil industry, and therefore this demarcation is not always easy. We therefore look very closely at the portfolio of potential customers. It has been shown that we are quite isolated with this clarity, and that is precisely what encourages us to put this sign.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals can only be achieved through a strong global partnership. Global challenges require global, joint efforts.

Partnerships help us to gain access to global customers and thus not only make a contribution in many countries, but also learn something new every day in just as many countries. Our contribution to the development of the Maintenance and Facility Management Society of Austria and our collaboration in the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies are just as much a part of our partnership-based approach as our collaboration in standardisation committees at the national and European level.
